Hi everyone!
First Saturday of every month is the Ybor City Artwalk and guess what? It's September (as of tomorrow)! I know that the plan was to go to the beach, but we could always stop and do it sometime.

More immediately, there's this interesting art, theater, literature insanity happening next weekend in Ybor (9/9-911). It's called Deep Carnivale. I think I'll definitely try to make at least some of that. How could anyone pass up, "I am a Cuban Sandwich"?

USF Fitness Classes
Hey guys,
I know earlier we had a post about the fitness classes, but it's so far back that I wanted to start a new one.
I looked over the schedule and I think these are the ones I'm going to try to go to (pretty ambitious right now, I know...we'll see what happens as the semester progresses):
Monday 3:00-4:00pm - Yogalates
Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm - Spinning
Thursday 3:00-4:00pm - Fitness Fusion
Let me know if anyone else would want to come with me! Working out is always more fun with a friend, and also, helpful for motivation :)
Robin
Ummm.. hello beautiful weather!
So I just checked the forecast.. I know it is always subject to change (up until the minute it happens)..but Thurs-Sat looks like Sunny skies, no rain..
So I am thinking, Sat... beach??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it turns out to be nice, anyone in? Do your work some other time, because um.. hello we live in freakin' Florida for a reason.

The Potluck fantastic and Jersey Shore! Pound it out with your poufs!
Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd let you know what I was preparing.
I'm making Thai peanut roasted tofu and garlic mushroom rice. For beverages, I will have a signature cocktail, the Purple Panic Pandemonium (can be non-alcoholic, slightly alcoholic, and otherwise). I will also provide vaguely purple spritzers, meade, and water. Of course, I'll have paper plates, cups, and other things of that sort as well.
I leave the rest to you ingenious folks. Jersey Shore will proceed the potluck.
Call me if you get lost (609) 442-7639. You can park anywhere other than directly in front of a building.
See you all Thursday!
Jason

Dog Sees God @ the Performing Arts Center
This Saturday there is a performance of Dog Sees God at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. It starts at 8 pm and tickets are available on the website for $24.50. One of the older graduate students, Heather McGinty told me about it. She said if we had a big enough group we could plan to meet up for dinner beforehand. Let me know if you're interested!

Mighty amounts of stuff this week
Totally mightier than Power Rangers!
On a side note, here's Shredder without the mask (http://www.x-entertainment.com/pics3/tm32.jpg).
There are so many events this week, it's ridiculous. Here's just a taste. If you'd like more info, go to the Week of Welcome site (http://ctr.usf.edu/wow/). You can also get brochures at the Week of Welcome tent by the Marshall Student Center.
Free Events:
August 25th
Graduate School Breakfast 10AM-12PM (Graduate School Hall, I think it's in BEH)
Taste of the Arts, Free food and performances, 11:30AM-1PM (Fine Arts Building Courtyard)
Art and Ice, Art tours and Snowcones. There'll be prizes as well. 3PM-5PM (Contemporary Arts Musem)
There's also a move in the lawn series. Iron Man 2 is playing Wednesday night from 9PM-11:30PM on the lawn of the Marshall Student Center. They're also playing Get Him to the Greek, Sex and the City 2, Toy Story 3, and many other movies these coming weeks.
August 26th
Pool-a-Palooza, 11AM-1PM, Andros Pool. They're having a meet and great for residential education. The PB&J bar is really what drew me to this event, as if I have time to go to it.

Without further ado
Dearly Beloved,
After much deliberation and banter of uncertain quantities, it was decided with my complete support that I shall be hosting our next pot luck which will be on 9/2, Thursday, at 6:30PM. The theme of the potluck is dum dum dooom... things with the letter "P". Feel free to be creative. As long as the name of the dish has a "P" in it, you're a-okay! If you feel like you need examples or something, feel free to let me know.
I live at 14327 Wedgewood Circle, Apt 101, Tampa, FL 33613.
Just to warn people, I don't really have many chairs, but LOTS of floor space.
I'm looking forward to having folks over!

Thoughts and ideas
I was thinking of maybe going to the International Boba Cafe near the University Mall on Friday after dinner. I've heard they have a great open mic night on Fridays and fun tea drinks.

I'm thinking I may swing by the Ybor Market this Saturday around 10ish. Has anyone been there yet?
http://www.ybormarket.com/
I was also considering seeing this film with the Japanese Meetup group for all those people who love things Japanese. It's Saturday at 2PM.
http://www.meetup.com/japanese-571/calendar/14236275/
Sometime in the future, I'd like to go see Rocky Horror. They have it every few weeks at a local theater with a wondrous live cast. If you've never seen it and would like to go, I'll make sure you're coached properly as to avoid certain Rocky Horror embarrassment doom.
That's all for now, folks.

SOCCER, Biatches!
Hey guys! Kev and I were thinking of going to a USF soccer game this weekend, either the women Fri night or the men Sat night. Both are at 7pm... I believe it is free for a student and $6 for a non-student. Lemme know if you are interested and want to meet up and sit together.
Hey ya'll
Hey gang!
Now we have a way of letting people know what you are doing without sending out personal texts, emails, facebook messages and calls to a small army of people. We can just post it here and and people can check it to see what is going on. Hope it works!
